Big changes are coming to The Elder Scrolls Online

The authors of the MMORPG in the Elder Scrolls universe have unveiled a major update called Gold Road, which will replace the current version of Necrom. Fans of the game will get activities in a fairy tale world, a story set in lands familiar to fans of the series from Oblivion, an item customization system, battles, rewards, and more. The release is scheduled for summer 2024, but some details of the update are known now.

The plot of the add-on will send the heroes to the southeast of Sirodil, where the walls and towers of Skingrad stand, around which the ancient forests are buzzing with foliage. Mysterious forces have invaded this territory, changing the landscape, so you will have to deal with the problem. If you go from the capital to the west, you can find the jungles of Valenwood, where elves live, and further away stretch the lands of monsters. In the north of the new territories are mountains with ruins, which will also become available for exploration. Of course, the expansion of the geography will also entail an increase in activities: there will be group raids, world bosses, challenges - in one of them you will even have to fend off a Daedra attack.

In the Lucent Citadel event, a squad of twelve heroes will invade a Daedric vault to find a powerful artifact. Prey, by the way, will be allowed to change the appearance at will - with such customization, the basic properties of items will remain the same. And the Scribing system, presented specifically for Gold Road, will open access to more fine-tuning of the role characteristics of characters. Also promised is a huge amount of collectibles and treasures for completing story and minor quests. The DLC is scheduled for release on June 3, 2024 for PC and June 18 for consoles.
