No Man's Sky is now available for free

In honor of the Omega add-on release Hello Games has made its space multiplayer action game temporarily free. To get acquainted with the game it is necessary to download from Steam not the main client, but the Trial-version until February 19. Or purchase a full copy with a 50% discount, valid until the 26th of this month. As for the update, in it gamers are waiting for quests, items, new starship, characters and expedition, as well as the mechanics of boarding, which was not there before. We tell you in detail what has changed.

The fans were informed about the features of the patch in a letter from the head of development Sean Murray - the same smiling bearded man whose portraits went viral after the disastrous release of the game on memes. "Omega" is, in fact, the name of the new expedition. Everyone will be able to take part in it, regardless of whether they have a copy of the game or not. To do this, it is enough to gather a team on the surface of one of the planets of the virtual universe. Also in all worlds there is a large number of quests created by procedural generation, and their content depends on the climate and biome in the place where you take the task.

In space there is also an addition to the action: a squadron of gamers can attack a pirate fleet, land on an enemy dreadnought and seize control over it. The single-seat ship added to Omega makes it easier to attack, both to fight and to explore distant systems. The Omega Expedition is designed to show newcomers both familiar mechanics (like building bases and mining resources) and newly added mechanics, such as boarding. This adventure will remain available for four weeks.
