There is penetration: a test of the damage system in Crossout

The authors of the car action Crossout from the team Targem Games invite all gamers to take part in the test of the new damage system. To do this, just go to the test server, where usually are tested this kind of changes. It is reported that this is the second stage of testing changes, and if the gamers will be satisfied, soon a patch will be released for the project.

How will Crossout change in the near future?

It is unlikely that anyone would dispute the spectacularity of the game. It is especially interesting to watch how pieces of shells and whole modules fall off the self-made armored vehicles due to hull collisions, under the impact of bullets and shells. And explosions are so exciting that you just can't help but marvel at them. But Targem Games decided to prove in practice that there is no limit to perfection - and began finalizing the damage system. According to the developers themselves, their task now is to make sure that there is no "ultimative" way to build a car for all occasions and modes. That's why the studio staff added the "Penetration Factor" to the gameplay.

From now on projectiles do not deal 100% damage, but use different values of their potential - depending on their quality. For example, it became possible to use shots with the 60% and 80% coefficient, while the damage power remains at the same level. The new mechanics is illustrated by an example. Suppose you have a projectile that hits with a force of 100, but with a penetration factor of 80%. After it hits an armor with 90 armor it will spend 90% of its strength, and then stop because the 80% potential is already used up. But after hitting a part with 40 strength points, it will continue flying and damage something else with the remaining 40%
