A new strategy from the authors of StarCraft is released
Former Blizzard employees have founded Frost Giant Studios to apply all of their accumulated experience in real-time strategy games like StarCraft and Warcraft. Their new game, Stormgate, uses the classic rules of the genre, but it's made on the modern Unreal Engine 5. There are both single-player and multiplayer modes, as well as cooperative playthrough. It also became known that on August 13 the novelty will be made free for a while - anyone who has an account in Steam will be able to get acquainted with it.
What's interesting about Stormgate?
This strategy was announced in the summer before last year. It became clear that the entourage in it is fantastic - people are at war with aliens who are trying to destroy the Earth. Nevertheless, on the battlefields found a place for magic. There were promised tournaments, different formats of online battles and joint passage of missions in groups of up to three participants. Now there are more details about the game, as it has finally been released in Early Access. As it turns out, there are three sides of the conflict in this RTS: besides humans and demonic aliens, there is also the Celestial Armada - reinforcements of angels who arrived to save the Earth from invaders.
Also announced single-player for Vanguard (forces of humanity), six maps for co-op, duels in skirmish-matches at a selected location, battles format "2 on 2" and "Territory War" - is a battle with the participation of heroes, made on the principle of MOBA. The developers report that their project will have both free content and paid content. In particular, it will be possible to purchase high-level missions for different factions. If you don't know whether it's worth splurging on Stormgate, wait until August 13 and install it on your computer for free.
