Valve has officially unveiled Deadlock
The new online shooter from the company that created Half-Life, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike and eventually the Steam store has long been rumored. But the prominent publisher embargoed all information about its development. Only recently the bans were lifted, and the game's page appeared on Valve's digital platform. Apparently, we are waiting for something between traditional multiplayer action and MOBA genre. Let's tell you what we know so far.
Deadlock details. Spoiler: there aren't many
It is known that the game will have both PvP-matches and battles against bots, as well as "Sandbox" mode for those who just want to learn the basic mechanics. And PvE-battle can be started in open format (anyone can join) or closed format (only for invited friends), while choosing the difficulty level for it. Nevertheless, all this gameplay is at the early testing stage: the locations lack textures, temporary objects are visible, and the heroes are not fully developed. But there is already a translation into different languages, including Russian.
We know a lot about the rules. Each battle takes place on the map, divided into four symmetrical sectors, and two teams of six participants try to capture the opponents' base and destroy it. They are assisted by robots controlled by artificial intelligence. Before the match, you can choose any of the 21 characters based on the role you want to fulfill on the battlefield. The creature under your control has three regular skills and an ultimatum skill. It is also known that the movement through the locations are facilitated by monorails - you can use both the existing ones and lay your own. It is interesting to organize the killing of creeps, bringing you souls. But after the death of your hero they fly away in the form of a shining sphere - whoever shoots this ball will get everything you have accumulated.
The official release date has not been announced yet, but at the testing stage tens of thousands of users have already familiarized with the project - the peak online, according to statistics, amounted to 44 000 connections. Although the game page has appeared in Steam, you can still add it to your library only by invitation from the developers. General access will appear later.
