Best of the Best: The Game Awards
One of the game industry's main shows, The Game Awards, has just concluded, where awards were presented to winners in various categories. Based on the results of voting by the jury and ordinary users, the hosts of the event honored the best games, developers, composers, artists and even cyber athletes. We tell you more about the nominees and winners.
Who won on the TGA 2022
Let's start, as the show hosts, with mobile platforms - the best entertainment in this category is the collectible card game Marvel Snap, created, by the way, by the former authors of Hearthstone.
In the field of eSports there are several points at once: the main event was the League of Legends World Championship, with Jacob Whitaker, nicknamed Yay, as the most effective athlete, and Matheus Tarasconi as the coach. Among the teams in first place went to Brazilian Loud, famous for its matches in League of Legends. And in the "best fighting game" category MultiVersus got on the podium.
Among the MMORPGs, Final Fantasy XIV made it to the prize lists, thanks to the support of the game itself and the community. The multiplayer action game Valorant, which became the number one cyber sports discipline, was also lucky. The epic God of War Ragnarok won the most prizes for the directing, storytelling, acting by Christopher Judge (the winner was announced by Al Pacino), innovation, importance to the Action-Adventure genre, soundtrack and overall sound design. Nevertheless, Elden Ring was recognized as the game of the year. And the audience award (unexpectedly for the organizers of The Game Awards) went to Genshin Impact.
