The real-time strategy game Stormgate, which was announced last summer, was finally shown to the public live. This happened during the PC Gaming Show festival. It is noteworthy that the game is being developed by Tim Morten and Tim Campbell, former Blizzard employees who were involved in the creation of the classics of the genre - StarCraft and Warcraft. They founded their own studio, Frost Giant, and continued what they had been doing all their lives.

What has been learned about Stormgate?

Representatives from Frost Giant brought a full gameplay demonstration to the PC Gaming Show. According to Tim Campbell, this strategy game follows the classic formula of RTS, even graphically it is somewhat reminiscent of Warcraft, although the new project is based on the Unreal Engine 5. On the battlefield, the user will be able to control every object or unit. The arsenal of the gamer - the traditional construction of bases, the management of huge armies, as well as different modes. The developers are convinced that it is important for fans of the genre to test their strength in multiplayer and relax for passing the single-player campaign. Therefore, the game will have challenges for people of different skill levels.

The video shown at the show focuses on the gameplay of the pre-alpha version. In it, the human faction mines resources and builds various buildings to prepare for war with an army of robots. Among the units are mock creatures, such as giant chickens and dogs that shoot laser beams out of their eyes. Campbell said there will be many pleasant surprises at release, including co-op, where three people fight against AI-controlled enemies. It is also known that the closed beta testing will begin very soon - in July 2023.
