The beta test of online shooter Striden has started
There are a lot of action games that use extraction-mechanics now - they have become fashionable. One of the games of this genre is Striden from the studio 5 Fortress: here teams of five people operate on the map, each of which must collect a radio transmitter, send a signal and wait for evacuation. The one who does it first wins the match. But the path to the goal is not as easy as it may seem. To participate in the testing, you need to go to the project page in Steam and request access. The campaign will last until the end of the weekend.

The action movie is set in an alternative history, where the Cold War has entered a hot phase and culminated in the exchange of nuclear strikes. The front line in the confrontation between the warring blocs is the Scandinavian peninsula. All of it is covered with ruins and abandoned cities, but groups of daredevils still go here for prey. At the start you can choose the class of your character: become a stormtrooper, medic, gunner, engineer or support fighter. Each has unique skills and initial building recipes. Then the heroes are united in a team and the landing takes place - the location where you will get to is also given to you to choose.
Everyone starts off with only a hammer and class abilities at hand. You need to collect supplies, weapon parts and mechanisms to equip yourself and your squadmates. All useful actions bring points - eventually you need to collect 15,000 of them. The more dangerous the area you go to, the more useful things you can find there. There are, for example, areas poisoned by poisonous gas and loot-rich buildings, where you will have to fight with other players. But without collecting items you can't build a transmitter and leave the map, so everyone has to take risks. The playtest will last at least the whole weekend - there's still time to participate.
