Star Trek Online will be getting a story update soon

If you like to explore the far reaches of space and visit places where no man has ever set foot, then you will definitely be pleased with this news. After all, for the fantastic MMORPG Star Trek Online announced the 30th season called Incursion, containing the next chapter of the story, a lot of activities with the Borg race and upgrades for ships. PC owners will be able to get acquainted with the patch on September 12, while console users will have to wait until November 1.

A press release from Gearbox and Cryptic Studios has revealed details of the upcoming update. First of all, let's tell you briefly about the scenario. Events unfold around Starbase One, near which a transdimensional vortex has opened, from where the Borg are preparing to attack the station. Captain Kuumaarke and Kim have to send their ships to repel the invasion and close the anomaly, just like in the last chapter. By the way, the role of Harry Kim is played by actor Garrett Wang, whom science fiction fans remember from the TV series Star Trek: Voyager, which ran from 1995 to 2001. This is not the only surprise - for the game is planned a cameo of Erin McDonald, a female astrophysicist, who acted as a consultant for the Star Trek movies.

Incursion will also offer a couple of new activities for the Task Force. In the first one, Resistance of Starbase One, you'll have to evacuate all personnel from the station, and in the second one, Guillotine, you'll have to fight the Borg and close the space rift as part of a team of five fleet commanders. If you would like to improve your starship, you can upgrade your T6-X model to T6-X2, getting additional equipment cells. In addition, the heroes will be able to get "Adaptation" armor sets and new-style uniforms.
