The Chinese islands will be added to Squad
Offworld Industries has announced an update of its multiplayer military shooter to version 7.1. The highlight of the program will be the Sanxian Archipelago, for which the US and Chinese armies will fight in different types of matches - from classic "Invasion" to mixed mode. The territory is remarkable for the fact that there is a place for jungles and urban development, there are mountains, rivers, a power plant and even a fleet base. Let's cover these and other changes in more detail.
What will Squad version 7.1 add?
The Sanxian island chain was formed by volcanic activity and has been inhabited for centuries, but it was only in the early 1990s that people began serious construction on the two largest pieces of land in the archipelago. In addition, it has become an important strategic hub in the Pacific, so PLA forces have set up a radar station, a small airfield, piers and docks for their navy. Otherwise, the shores are occupied by wild vegetation and fishing villages. It's almost a paradisiacal place, but as of February 7, it will be fought over by the United States Marine Corps and Army Corps.
Of the locations worthy of special attention, the developers mention several. The first is a coal-fired power plant, where both infantry and equipment will be able to compete. Urban development provides the same tactical opportunities, but the buildings here are smaller. But among the operations there will be storming huts and controlling bridges over the river. The heart of Sanxian is a naval base with helipads. In all these locations the use of vehicles is allowed, except for the jungle, where only infantry units will have to operate.
