Fishing in the cold: what is known about DayZ version 1.26?

Блог
Soon online survival action game about survival after the end of the world will receive a major update Frostline, and with it - northern territories, a set of weather-related mechanics and character appearance settings. To prepare the public for the upcoming changes, Bohemia Interactive employees told about the features of the upcoming patch 1.26 in an open letter. We share with you the details of this letter.

DayZ 1.26 - what should fans prepare for?

First of all, you should know that the changes will affect both classic maps, Livonia and Chernarus, not to mention the new one - Sakhal. Characters operating in these locations will receive temperature adaptation tags - overheating or hypothermia will be reported by the interface. Moreover, edible items will also have thermal energy. If food gets cold in the frost, it will turn into a piece of ice, as if it was put in the freezer. A stove or a fire will allow you to heat up the food. Without fire, you will have to chew half-finished food, and such a meal is hardly good for health, so the hero risks getting sick. In this case will help medicines, which will also be added to the number of prey. Infected meat of wild animals is a hidden threat, because there is no way to know in advance whether the bear or wolf you are hunting is healthy.

The developers pay special attention to fishing. This is a completely new mechanic - it was not in the game before. It is based on the "window of opportunity": you have to wait until the fish starts pecking to hook it and pull it out of the water. If the opportunity is missed, you have to be patient again. Beginners will start fishing with a wooden hook, but then develop their tackle by adding different types of lures and baits to their arsenal. Finally, not the most pleasant news for those who are used to collecting everything on the level: with the release of the patch the size of the inventory will be reduced - and the loot will have to be evaluated more carefully.
