Flight from underground: a railroad update for Rust

Блог
Facepunch's multiplayer survival simulator has been focusing on trains, for which you have to lay tracks and assemble trains from resources found on the map. The update allows you to link underground and aboveground branches into one system, as well as to use interactive objects related to the movement of trains. In addition, the patch contains a set of decorations for the "Frontier" base, decorated in the Wild West style.

How is Rust changing in November 2023?

Work on the railroads is coming to an end. Now you can lay them both on the ground and in tunnels, connecting the branches as you like. Such an opportunity appears if you play on a map with the size from 4250. Together with other objects, survivors will find one or two long tunnels on the terrain. Inside can fit cars of any type, and for the convenience of drivers along the rails are placed semaphores. Each section of 500 meters between the signal devices is called a block: if the light is green, it is free of obstacles, and if it is red - something is in the way ahead, whether it is someone else's train or a barricade. Yellow means interference through the block.

No matter what kind of transportation you use, it was made friends with the laws of physics: objects thrown into the back of the car or, for example, on the bottom of the boat will lie there without any glitches. The developers have also simplified the equipment of power networks in the user's buildings. A real decoration of the game is the "Frontier" set, which includes chests made of barrels, torch holders, homemade flower beds, doors in the style of cowboy saloons, as well as hunting and fishing trophies - you can hang a boar's head over the fireplace, or a body part of a killed enemy.
