Final Fantasy XIV update has proven to be problematic

Fans of Japanese MMORPG finally waited for the release of DLC Dawntrail, but their impressions were overshadowed by the technical state of the patch. Even before its official release, the developers opened early access to gamers - and it turned out that the state of the add-on is not as good as its authors thought. It got to the point that the game director Naoki Yoshida had to justify himself for this release and promised to fix all the bugs. Find out what's going on with FFXIV right now.

Final Fantasy XIV - Dawntrail's failed launch

This update is the biggest update in the last few years. In it, users get access to a new race and raids "Arcadion", increase the maximum level from 90 to 100, experience adventures in several territories, including the forests of Yak Tel and the city of Tulliolal, meet friends, enemies, bosses, hunt for treasure and even explore space thanks to the addition of starships. All this in the DLC, of course, is there, but it is not realized in the best way. As it turned out, Dawntrail has a lot of technical problems, and owners of Microsoft consoles face a critical error when trying to move between zones on the map.

To smooth things over, Yoshida begins the letter by thanking everyone who downloaded the DLC. He apologizes for the difficulties encountered and promises to fix the most significant ones soon. In particular, the memory fragmentation mechanism in the Xbox version will be repaired, the freeze skill action will be fixed and character animations will be brought to mind. At the same time, the game director does not name the exact date of the patch release - so far his team is busy collecting data from the early access period.
