Big changes are coming to Mortal Online 2

MMORPG developers from Star Vault studio have announced a major update that will affect every aspect of the game. In particular, MO2 will be optimized and transferred to Unreal Engine 5. But in order to test it by users, all the changes were first put on the test server. To enter it, you need to right-click on the game in Steam, select "Properties" and then "Beta Versions" and select the Mortal Online PTR branch there. After that, you'll be able to evaluate that version, which will soon make its way to the full release as well.

What's going to change in Mortal Online 2?

The test version is already equipped with Lumen global lighting system, virtual shadow maps and other technologies from the arsenal of Unreal 5. And owners of PCs with NVIDIA graphics cards can appreciate DLSS graphics optimization in all its glory. At the same time support for DirectX 11 and 12 remained in place. Virtual cities, according to Star Vault employees, received a number of edits. Among other things, changes were made to collisions and the number of characters displayed, but it made longer subloads, so the optimization work is not yet complete. But the gameplay has already been optimized.

The virtual world is now divided into two types of zones - wild and protected. On the former there are bosses and raids, and on the latter there are guards that protect everyone, except for killers with a red nickname. When moving from one zone to another, the user receives a notification, so it will be difficult to get lost here. Guild tabs have been removed from the social networking window, but only for those who are not members of them. The mechanics regarding buildings, stocks and guild taxes have also been updated.

As for battles, the bug with shots hitting the ground when you choose to aim at the arrowhead has been removed, and the minimum attack charge duration has been slightly increased. Outcasts and criminals under the control of artificial intelligence made slower and weaker, in addition, we weaned them from passing through locked doors. The game has also undergone extensive work on bugs, which, however, is far from complete, as the developers admit. As soon as the public tries out the changes on the test server and leaves feedback, and the Star Vault team responds to them, we can talk about the official release of the update.
