Guild Wars 2 will feature rifles

We are used to the fact that the main focus in fantasy MMORPGs is on cold weapons, and archers and mages are responsible for long-range attacks. But sometimes there are exceptions: employees of ArenaNet studio decided to add characters with rifles to their game. This will happen with the release of a major update Secrets of the Obscure in 2024. According to the developers' plans, firearms will have an auxiliary role, but will be available to heroes of any profession.

MMORPG authors intend to make the rifle a universal tool. In addition to the usual shooting, it can be used to activate various skills - for example, to launch "Inspiring Images", shooting from afar at a lighthouse, which will then begin to heal allies and damage enemies. And the "Singular Shot" skill allows you to set up a protective barrier for one or more friends by hitting a certain point. This will come in handy if your friend is in a difficult situation, and to run to him on the battlefield is not possible.

All those who are interested in the new features do not have to wait until next year. Shooting will be allowed much sooner: from November 28 to December 3 will last beta-test of the announced changes, so that anyone can evaluate them in practice. However, in a reduced form - after all, not all mechanics and interface elements have been finalized. And even earlier, on the 27th, the developers will organize a broadcast, where they will explain in detail how they are going to expand the arsenal of the game.
