Give me fuel, give me fire: Metallica concert at Fortnite
Epic Games' Fortnite continues its parade of unexpected but enjoyable collaborations. This time the legendary Californian heavy metal band, whose songs have not been heard only by hermits living in the woods, bursts into the "battle royal". And since you're not one of them, you can enjoy Metallica's concert on the virtual stage, test your strength in the new mode and escape from enemies on the chord. We tell you more about these and other changes.
What does Metallica bring to Fortnite?
First things first - about the band's performance. It will be possible to get to it on June 22, 23 and 24 three times a day. Avatars of musicians will perform six famous songs on the digital stage, and if someone doesn't have time for the show, no problem - the latecomers will be able to listen to the concert from the beginning, because it is not broadcasted live. Festival mode will continue the fun - in its free version you can play the guitar and get looks for "battle royal" and LEGO-version, and those who put up 1800 B-dollars will get more instruments and looks. Separately, there's a music competition where contestants perform tracks for points and attack each other in moments of overdrive.
Who spends more time for the main entertainment in the game, will find on the maps a special electric guitar Ride the Lightning, named after one of the albums of the band. This tool will allow you and your friends to quickly move around the locations riding sound waves. Also, holographic images of James Hetfield and his colleagues will appear on the island, and the heroes will get emotions associated with heavy metal. In Thrash Mountain mode, fans of fast driving will enjoy competitions among erupting volcanoes and lava lakes, and everyone will be allowed to drive specially decorated cars.
