Escape from Tarkov - now with snow

Studio Battlestate Games has unveiled the latest patch for its online action game Escape From Tarkov, where several factions battle for control of a fictional city and its surroundings. The game's upgrade to version 0.16 coincides with the release of an event called "Roundabout" - in which you can enjoy the sight of familiar locations covered in snow, as well as pass a number of challenges. This is only a small part of all the changes, so it is better to tell about them in more detail.

The Roundabout mode is available on the Shore, in the Forest, at the Customs House, Reserve, Junction and in the Lighthouse District. The task of the participants in the match is to fuel a generator and then defend it against enemies for five minutes. The battle is completed by turning on the Christmas tree lights. After the traditional vyp, which cancels achievements and cleans the stores, the season "Winter" has arrived - with snowy landscapes and effects like the status "Frozen". Those who get it have reduced visibility and stamina. And to cancel this malaise will help heating in shelters and drinking hot drinks. Interestingly enough, frost and snowdrifts even affect the sound - fans of tactical headphones should keep this in mind.

In addition, the developers report on the redesign of the map "Customs", where textures, buildings and some objects have been replaced - there are, for example, exploding cylinders. The arsenal was also significantly expanded: now available disposable grenade launcher RSHG-2, sniper rifle Sako TRG M10, automatic shotgun "Saiga-12K", knife "Shark" and other items of equipment, as well as several bonus animations of handling them. Other new features include personal shelter customization, story quests for the APC driver, achievement system and AI improvements for enemies.
