Helmets and "Vikhr" are the first DayZ update in 2024

Employees of the Czech company Bohemia Interactive announced the release of patch 1.24 for the multiplayer action game about survival after the zombie apocalypse - this, according to them, is the first stable update this year. Its main task the authors see in solving long-standing problems of the game, not in adding some modes, locations or items. Nevertheless, there is also interesting content, including weapons and equipment items. We tell you more about it.

One of the main additions to the arsenal is the Vikhr assault rifle, already experienced by gamers during recent testing. It supports magazines for 30 rounds of 9x39 mm caliber. Also heroes can flaunt new helmets with military camouflage - it is both protection and a beautiful piece of equipment. Some changes are designed to simplify the life of users. In particular, it became smoother handling of weapons when in contact with obstacles, increased damage in close combat with infected animals, added optimization of recoil when shooting, scattering of particles and collision of leaves from neighboring trees. The list is completed by tweaking some sounds and animations.

In addition to the patch description, the developers presented their plans for 2024. Further game development activities in Bohemia Interactive are called "brand extension". In addition, there will be serious improvements in the appearance of characters and the appearance of unusual guns - on the way just a powerful long-range sample. One of the main goals was the appearance of a nuanced soundtrack in ambient style - such music will emphasize the lull in the battle, and the minute of danger. It is also planned to introduce diversity in the wild life, that is, there will be more animals and forms of landscape.
