ARK: Survival Ascended is out

Here we have waited for the release of Survival Evolved remake on Unreal Engine 5. But the difference between the two versions of the same survival simulator is not only in the quality of textures and lighting. The novelty was equipped with a full set of cross-platform functions - from multiplayer to mod creation. Let's tell you more about what this game is interesting and what are its differences from the first part.

Here you also control a character who, along with dozens of other heroes, finds himself in the wild lands inhabited by dinosaurs and Ice Age fauna. During the debut you need to collect supplies, make different tools, build housing and tame lizards to use them as riding animals and help in battle. And then - gather your tribe and challenge your neighbors. Battles are expectedly more beautiful thanks to the transition to a new engine, and there are still seven familiar maps - from jungle to snowy mountains. But this time you can survive with cross-platform multiplayer - there is a format for 70 single players on one location, private network for eight and split-screen for two.

You can also make amateur modifications, complete new quests and switch to third-person view, which was not available in Survival Evolved. The developers have refreshed some basic mechanics - such as the character editor, photo mode, interface and mini-map, where zooming is now available. An interesting detail of the Ascended-version are the baby dinosaurs, which were prescribed a special behavior. Among the previously unseen creatures are announced Gigantoraptor and water-floating Shastosaurus.
