The "Foundation" for Albion Online has been unveiled

Employees of Sandbox Interactive have told fans of their MMORPG Albion Online what awaits them after the completion of the Crystal Raiders season. Having increased the activity of guilds in the Outlands, the developers realized that it is important for gamers not only to be able to raid, but also to be able to defend themselves against it. Therefore, new defense mechanics were invented, as well as rewards for success. The changes will also affect weapons and armor. We tell you all about it in detail.

In order to give small guilds a chance to fend off the onslaught of stronger opponents, fortifications will appear in the game. This means that you will be able to build and improve your fortress to repel attacks. At least five types of walls are announced - from a wooden palisade with a platform to a capital construction. But you have to spend resources (primarily stone) for upgrades, and you can't make more than one upgrade at a time. The stronger the fort, the harder it is for the enemy to penetrate it. On the other hand, the defenders will get a tactical head start - they are free to either shoot from behind cover or prepare a sortie for a concentrated attack on the aggressor. In addition, the NPC-guards will get their own pumping to make them more effective support for the heroes.

Nevertheless, these changes create a difficulty: some people will simply stop looking into the Beyond, relying on their comrades and guards. To stimulate the interest of the public, more chests with daily rewards will appear on the terrain. And the higher the activity of players in a particular area, the more prizes will get into these chests. Finally, Sandbox Interactive announced the addition of crystal equipment items to the arsenals. What else I would like to mention is the new spectator mode - it will surely be used during amateur tournaments.
