Grab the princess' trusty friend, old Franklin, he's sure to come in handy. In the painted world you can wander through pictures and books, take part in all sorts of events and adventures. All avenues are open before you, as the paintings include sea voyages, treasure hunts, battles with sharks, and more. As you travel, look for pictures of the things you need and keep looking around.

It's quite possible that you'll quickly stumble upon a letter sent to you by the princess, and encrypted so it can't be read by enemies. Turning the sketches into regular artifacts in the real world is easy - you just have to outline them with regular charcoal. Keep an eye out for dark corners in the royal halls, there too may be notes from the princess. Look into the jaws of stone lions, flip through books in the library, talk to the gardener.
