Free Warframe update released

Digital Extremes has announced the release of the expansion «The Old Peace» for the fantastic online shooter Warframe about battles of living armor suits. In the patch bundle — story adventures, access to a graceful and deadly frame, a collection of hero appearance settings, a couple of new modes, a skill development branch, as well as two events that will start very soon and last until mid-January. And all this is available for free. We tell you how the game has changed ahead of the winter holidays.

The update released simultaneously on all platforms, including consoles. Its storyline is dedicated to the Old War, which once engulfed the entire galaxy, and the next chapter of the story, according to the developers, will be released in 2026 — and it will be dedicated to events on Tau. The main quest, which gave its name to the entire update, consists of separate memories about the relationships between the Orokin race and the Mind Masters. Someone from the warring sides will become your ally in this adventure (like, for example, Adis), and someone — an opponent. To begin this scenario, you must complete the main story of the game — up to the missions «Whisper in the Walls» and «Lotus Eaters». The 63rd frame, Uriel, will help you cope with the tasks — he deals fire damage, heals himself, and uses three minions in battle.

Among the modes added to the shooter, first of all, it is worth noting «Descent» — this is fighting through a series of floors in a building packed with enemies. «Perite Uprising», in turn, sends characters to the moon Tau Perita, where a rebellion erupted during the Old War. You will have only 12 minutes to complete all tasks and reach the final battle. As for progression, Digital Extremes employees have opened another branch — the Tauron focus school. In addition, the game has been filled with a mass of decorations, including a «Honors» system for profile customization, an expanded selection of weapons, and frame appearance sets.
