Console release and single-player mode of Dune: Awakening
Funcom, the company responsible for developing the MMO game based on Frank Herbert's Dune series and its film adaptation, has made an important announcement. On September 22 of this year, the project will reach consoles — PlayStation 5 and XBOX, and simultaneously will receive a single-player campaign for all platforms, including PC. This means that the storyline of Dune: Awakening can be completed alone, without engaging in PvP battles and without cooperating with anyone for resource gathering or base building. However, there will be its own nuances here as well. Let's tell you what is known about the autumn events at the moment.
More about what awaits Dune: Awakening in September

Users have long asked for this opportunity — and finally, the developers have presented it. In autumn, a choice between multiplayer and single-player mode will appear in the game's main menu. By clicking on the first option, you will enter the classic version, where many player-controlled characters exist on a single server, and the second option will offer only a campaign with NPCs, but without the participation of third parties. In addition, settings will appear — allowing you to set a priority on battles, resource gathering, or construction, so that everyone can choose the pace and style of gameplay they like best. All content, including activities, will still remain in the desert, but at the same time, faction rivalry in the Landsraad will be simulated with AI.
Funcom employees specifically note that characters created for the solo mode cannot be transferred to multiplayer, and vice versa. It is also worth keeping in mind that exactly on September 22, the final (fifth) act of the storyline will be released. This means that console owners and PC players who decide to start the story in a solo format will be able to play through the entire scenario from beginning to end, without breaks to wait for the next DLC. However, the function of creating private servers will still remain the prerogative of PC gamers.
