The developers at Digital Extremes studio have shared information about upcoming updates to their games. The sci-fi online action game Warframe will receive the "Tau" expansion in December, where heroes will face battles in a yet-unexplored star system. Meanwhile, Soulframe, which is still in development, will become available as early as November — as a test version of the free co-op action game. We'll tell you more about these events and find out how to take part in them.

"Tau" in Warframe and the open beta test of Soulframe — what's new?

The MMO action game about the adventures of Warframes will receive a December update across all versions, including mobile. In the Tau system, heroes will encounter unprecedented enemies and locations, but access will open only to those who have completed the storyline in the Origin System. You will visit the ring city of Fornax, built in the manner of a Dyson sphere, and set foot in the Perita Wastes. These once-prosperous lands have fallen into decline, but it won't be hard to find allies here from the warlike Dazannakh clans. Along the way, you'll be able to gather some resources and solve the problems plaguing the local residents. It's best to play through the entire adventure with the Brisco frame, designed in the style of a noir detective and voiced by Matt Mercer.

The free role-playing action game, partly inspired by the Japanese Souls series, won't be released anytime soon. But the developers are already ready to invite the public to the open beta test starting November 6. You'll be able to get onto the server without codes or registration — a client downloaded from the official website will suffice. Right before testing begins, the game will receive the Verses of the Veilands update. In it, you'll be able to complete quests for various factions, raise your own pet wolf, descend into the dungeons of Borro, and upgrade weapons and armor.
