Super People is being made free again

The multiplayer shooter Super People from publisher Wonder Games has already been through a lot: it was turned into a sequel of itself, shut down, relaunched, and now the developers have decided to listen to public opinion and return the game to a free-to-play status. This almost immediately flipped the Steam reviews to positive. Right now the project will cost you 550 rubles, but after October 16 you’ll be able to install it on your computer for free — just as it was when it first appeared in the digital store. Recall that the first version of the game came out about three years ago. Since then it has been shut down and released again, but the paywall angered fans of the genre. And despite the developers’ claims that this measure was aimed at protecting gamers (the more expensive the product, the fewer cheaters it has), the number of negative reviews on Steam kept growing. So from the 16th of this month the price tag will be reset to zero — everyone will get the shooter about people with supernatural abilities for free. Naturally, owners of the paid package will be given bonuses so no one feels slighted. The compensation handouts will happen in two stages: from October 16 to 30 and from November 2 to 16. In addition, users retain the right to simply get a refund for their purchase.

At the same time, Wonder Games staff announced improvements to the anti-cheat system and increased rewards in ranked mode. And most interestingly, during the transition to free-to-play the action will be supplemented with fresh content — from loot on locations to character appearance settings. The compensation amount for those who decide to keep their account has also been revealed — such people will receive a refund of 140 % of the game’s cost in digital currency spendable on virtual items.
