Building and transport in the Dune: Awakening update

Funcom has updated its survival MMO set in the desert world of Dune to version 1.2.10.1. The patch contains a number of major changes. In particular, any vehicle—be it a flying ornithopter or a ground rover—can now be restored for solari, and you’re also allowed to swap building blocks directly in an already finished structure. The loot-distribution system has been tweaked as well—randomness has increased, but expensive trophies now drop more often. We’ll tell you in detail what else the developers of Dune: Awakening have added to please the public.

What does Dune: Awakening version 1.2.10.1 offer?

The desert hides many dangers, and when you leave base for a raid, no one can say for sure that your vehicle will survive the coming battles. So the developers have added a restoration option—for a fee in solari any vehicle will reappear in the hangar, albeit with reduced durability. If there were any supplies in the cargo bays during an unsuccessful fight, they’re gone for good. On the plus side, you no longer have to rebuild your favorite ornithopter—it’s yours forever. Keep in mind that vehicle restoration is active for 72 hours after it’s lost. You also don’t have to tear your shelter apart brick by brick when you need to change something in the design. From now on you can replace any block in a building using the standard constructor.

Funcom staff continue to work on the visual side of their project. For example, the draw distance has been increased to two kilometers—spotting an enemy from afar is now much easier. As for loot gathering, PvP zones still yield more than PvE locations. At the same time, every gamer will see only their own items—fighting over chests is a thing of the past. The chances of finding valuable items have gone up, but the likelihood of getting something specific (like blueprints) has become lower than before. The developers also mention larger bank storage and other tweaks meant to make the game more convenient.
