Dread is descending upon The Elder Scrolls Online
With Halloween approaching, the developers at Bethesda have announced the imminent start of a special festival. From October 23 to November 5, the heroes of Tamriel will be able to earn rewards for completing sinister missions, meet sorcerers of all stripes, and collect trophies—now skulls with pumpkins, now fragments of a living, growing house. In addition, characters will have their experience gain doubled for the duration of the autumn activities. We’ll tell you what users of the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online will be doing over the next two weeks.

The experience bonus comes from a witch’s whistle, for which you’ll need to add a couple of ladles of sorcerous potion, but then be ready for your character to transform into a creepy skeleton. If the themed quest doesn’t appear on its own, head to the in-game store, where it’s given out for free. Crow conjurers waiting near the breweries in Stonefalls, Glenumbra, and Auridon will help you get your bearings. The developers remind you that the cauldron may be used in all provinces except Cyrodiil. After getting your buffs, set off to battle bosses—each victory will be crowned with a special chest containing reagents, recipes, tradeable festival souvenirs, adornments, and other items.
You can also earn a reward for a successful fight against the Raven if you pick up the quest from Taerma in advance. Among the prizes are the Dremora style book, runeboxes, the «Woven Chain» costume, and Glenmoril treasure maps. And the star of the show will, of course, be Lord Hollowjack in person. You’ll need to hunt him throughout the entire event to walk away with the most valuable trophy of the autumn. The developers report that this year’s final collectible item will be a fragment of Julianos’ Wild-Growing House.
