«Ash & Iron» arrives tomorrow in Destiny 2
Bungie studio employees have announced a major Ash & Iron update set to release in Destiny 2 on September 9. Heroes of the sci-fi online shooter will face battles in the Plaguelands, team operations in dungeon-lairs, and field testing of fresh equipment samples. Additionally, developers announced the return of weekly featured weapons for trials. Let's take a closer look at these and other changes.
What will change in Destiny 2 after Ash & Iron releases?

As the shooter's authors report, many improvements were made based on regular gamers' requests. These include increased loot drops in Fireteam Ops mode, rebalanced activities (specifically in «The Portal» where everyone can earn a Prime Engram after mission completion), repeatable triumphs, and various rewards. Developers found a way to balance PvP and PvE gear by reintroducing weekly featured weapons. These guns can be obtained by visiting the Lighthouse, with their effectiveness depending on trial rank. However, Bungie plans to remove certain mods from «The Portal» — Grappler, Hypercritical, Oscillation, and Match Game.
The arsenal expansion will be substantial. «Trials of Osiris» will offer the «Burden of Guilt» rifle and a rapid-fire auto rifle, «Iron Banner» will bring the «Final Blow» revolver, and don't forget to acquire the Haliaetus rocket launcher in battle — useful for fighting massive enemy hordes. Nothing will stop you from collecting the «Desperate Souls» gear set. All this will come in handy when you and your friends venture into new dungeon-lairs: «Pit of Heresy: Beneath the Necropolis», «Duality: Gahlran's Nightmare», and «Proving Grounds: Hefnd's Vengeance». Most importantly, the «Ash & Iron» expansion will become free for all players upon release — unlike most major Destiny 2 DLCs, you won't need to purchase it.
