World of Sea Battle is coming to Steam soon

This online game is being developed by Russian enthusiasts who recreate sailing ships based on real prototypes. Here you'll find the line ship «Poltava» from the time of Peter the Great, the Red Arrow, modeled after the pirate ship «Queen Anne's Revenge», and many other famous sailing vessels from maritime history. Until now, the game World of Sea Battle could only be downloaded from the official website, but on October 21 of this year, everything will change — it will be released on Steam. The digital store's server already has a project page where this information was posted.

Aside from the fact that a game on such a rare theme is being made in Russia, it has many other merits. Gamers are invited to build their own maritime empire in an open world, for which there is progression with the unlocking of new ships of different ranks, a personal island where resources can be gathered and players can rest between battles, as well as guilds and harbor assaults. All sailing ships here are replicas of real historical models. If you accumulate enough experience and resources, you can conquer the waves on Admiral Nelson's flagship, take command of the French 24-gun corvette La Creole, launched in 1827, or set sail for distant lands on Christopher Columbus's «Santa Maria». Over 50 models from different eras of fleet development are represented in total.

The virtual world's economy depends on trade, which, in turn, is controlled by regular users. Therefore, it's important here not only to fight but also to deliver cargo along various routes. And the more experienced the captain, the larger their ship and the more goods they can transport in one voyage. For those who want to rally the crew, the project features PvP and PvE modes, as well as battles in cooperative mode. Currently, you can play World of Sea Battle by downloading the client from the official website. But starting October 21, the Steam download will go live, significantly expanding the project's audience worldwide.
