Rust's Easter update has been released

The multiplayer survival simulator from Facepunch has received an update timed for Easter. In addition to bunny costumes and the traditional Easter egg hunt, the game Rust has seen other changes. The underground bunker can now be sealed with an armored hatch, a water wheel helps generate power for the shelter, and a host of new store items allow players to decorate their character's home to their heart's content. Additionally, the developers have discussed improvements to the technical state of their MMO action game.

How has Rust changed following the release of the April update?

The «Spring Cleaning» expansion has become the game's largest update since the sea patch at the beginning of the season. But even here, the aquatic theme has been developed further. Specifically, heroes can now fish in any body of water, including the sea, and catch various types of prey—from time to time, they'll hook junk that's more or less useful in daily life. And if your base is on a riverbank, nothing stops you from installing a generator with a wheel nearby to supply your cabin with electricity. Underground shelter enthusiasts were also pleased by Facepunch: if you seal the entrance with an armored hatch, raiders are unlikely to break in, and the hatch itself, when open, can easily be used as a shield during a firefight.

The interface has undergone a true revolution. First, the tech tree has become an actual tree—with node unlocks, progression along individual branches, and pleasant sound effects to boot. Second, all menus, including chat settings, have become more colorful. Finally, navigation has been simplified thanks to multi-colored buttons and a 'wheel' instead of number keys. Among the many other changes, it's worth noting the longer plant growth time, hare costumes, and the hunt for souvenir eggs. The festive event will last until April 16.
