Valve, which owns the Steam digital store, is also known for releasing updates for its games rarely but aptly. The major patch for the second "Contra" was no exception. Unfortunately, it added some paid features to the free online shooter, but it contains a lot of content, including decorations for guns and edits for the most popular maps. The Armory menu is now available in the store, where gamers will find three weapon collections, two sets of keychains, stickers and special versions of some guns - yes, Desert Eagle is among them. To start earning Armory credits to purchase these items, you'll need to sign up for the Armory Pass. Charms mechanic for accessories is also introduced - with its help you can, for example, hang a keychain on any place of a rifle or pistol, and then move it freely at will. Trade was also affected: now the purchase of any items is accompanied by a 7-day ban on their resale. In addition, the option to remove weapon cases from the user's inventory was canceled.

The developers reported about improved animation of character movements, including running and crouching, and at the same time reported about fixing a bug with premature explosion of two types of grenades. The maps Ancient, Anubis, Dust2, Mirage, Italy, Nuke and Overpass - in short, almost the whole classic set of locations - have undergone serious changes. Somewhere the designers slightly corrected the geometry, and on other levels there were gameplay changes.
