Major update for Destiny 2 released
For at least six months, Bungie studio employees have been teasing the public with announcements of the «Renegades» expansion for their sci-fi online shooter Destiny 2<\/a> about Earth's defenders battling alien invaders. Therefore, it was no secret to anyone that the DLC is inspired by the stories and aesthetics of «Star Wars». Here, gamers can expect lightsaber battles, shooting from weapons reminiscent of Han Solo's blaster, enemies in white armor of imperial stormtroopers, and other interesting moments. But unlike the main game, the update is paid.
«Renegades» in Destiny 2 — what's new?
The expansion's story, created in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games specialists, introduces users to the criminal underbelly of war-torn planets. Guardians, whose duty is actually to save the remnants of human civilization, must step onto a slippery path and infiltrate the world of the Frontier, where lawlessness reigns. Gamers who purchase the DLC will receive an exotic ship for these adventures. They'll also be able to hang a kinetic sword (an analog of the lightsaber from «Star Wars») or a blaster with a cooling system, greatly reminiscent of Han Solo's weapon, on their belt. At the same time, the game still adheres to the canon of the series — there are no characters from Star Wars here.
However, the main story is painfully familiar: The Guardians learn that the Imperium is creating a new superweapon, so the heroes must travel to the «Dusk» station and destroy the enemy's plans before it begins destroying inhabited worlds. Criminal syndicates are fighting for power on the Frontier — you must take part in these showdowns to achieve your goals. For this, there is now a special mode with customizable difficulty and the use of abilities such as turret placement and calling in air strikes. And in the «Equilibrium» dungeon for three participants, they will have to help Onor Mahal track down the servants of Dredgen Bael and fight through all the traps, which is not for everyone.
