An expansion with a new map for DayZ has been released

The employees of Bohemia Interactive have presented an update called Badlands for their online shooter DayZ with open-world survival. If last time the virtual world map was updated with a northern island, now the added lands are abundantly warmed by the sun, and they are designed in a Middle Eastern style: lots of sand, palm trees, heat, and ruins of ancient structures. However, these locations are far from being resort areas — it's more like a post-apocalyptic setting here.

So far, the expansion has only been announced — it will be released in 2026. However, it will be the largest in the project's history, as the new lands, representing the province of Nasdara, cover a total of 267 square kilometers. This will be the most extensive territory in the entire game. It borders Takistan, located to the west of Chernarus, but the atmosphere here will be more tense — due to constant military conflicts. Here, you will encounter hills and palm groves, towns in the style of Afghanistan, abandoned Soviet military bases, and oil rigs. Scattered across the terrain, you'll often come across destroyed and burned-out armored vehicles.

The main difference between Nasdara and other countries is the climate. Since it's always hot here, gamers will need to monitor their characters' water supplies in their inventory, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and steer clear of encounters with infected creatures. All necessary supplies can be gathered, as usual, by exploring the map alone or with friends. The expansion will be paid, and its release is scheduled for 2026, but it can already be added to your wishlist on Steam.
