Rematch is out — and the reviews are good
Soclap Studio, known to gamers for the kung-fu action game Sifu, has released a multiplayer football simulator Rematch, where the entire on-field confrontation is shown from a third-person perspective. This viewpoint fundamentally changes the feel of a sports game: here you can't switch between players on the field, but there's plenty of room to showcase personal skills. The main thing is to find teammates for a match, as there's nothing to do in multiplayer without friends.
What makes Rematch interesting?

The game was initially announced as revolutionary. To some extent, this is true: it doesn't feature switching between athletes, meaning each player controls their character as in an RPG, and there are no traditional football clubs for the genre, although individual athletes can be customized in the editor. From the start, two match formats are available — for teams of three and five participants. Just keep in mind that individual skills, as important as they are, are less significant than team coordination. For online victories, you'll need reliable teammates, while solo play is only good for warming up in training mode — it gives an idea of the gameplay features.
Rematch stands out because shots at the ball need to be charged here. That is, you not only have to catch the moment for a successful 'shot' at the opponents' goal but also check if you have enough time to hit properly or if it's better to pass the ball to another player. The strategy allows everyone to act in any position — to be both an attacker and a defender, moving all over the field. Only the goalkeeper has a strictly fixed role, while other characters act according to circumstances. Overall, this game stands out among other football action games, but users currently complain about network code issues and the small number of servers.
