An MMO shooter from the creators of Bulletstorm has been released

The Polish studio People Can Fly needs no special introduction — it is the creator of such hits as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, and Outriders. It's also worth noting that the employees of this company had a hand in developing the legendary battle royale Fortnite. Now, the team founded by Adrian Chmielarz has unveiled its next project — a multiplayer action game with PvPvE battles and survival mechanics. Here's what else is currently known about Lost Rift.

The game somewhat resembles Rust by Facepunch Studios. Heroes wake up on a beach among rocks and palm trees. This is just part of an island within a tropical archipelago where you'll have to fight, gather resources, craft equipment, build, and develop your personal base. In addition, there are story missions and a PvPvE mode with rules familiar to most shooter fans involving evacuation — you must enter a location, collect loot, and exit while fending off both AI-controlled enemies and other players' characters. According to the developers, other activities are only available in PvE format.

The project has been released in Early Access — meaning it will still be refined and supplemented with patches based on feedback from regular gamers. Currently, the maximum number of people in one squad is five, but several such teams can be active in the area at once. It's also worth noting the dynamic changes in weather conditions and time of day on the map. The game currently has mixed reviews and is being offered at a 20% discount for 799 rubles.
