The second chapter of Dune: Awakening will be released in September
Employees at Funcom studio have announced a series of major updates for the MMORPG Dune: Awakening set in Frank Herbert's «Dune» universe. The first will be the «Lost Loot» expansion with the second chapter of the story — fans will be able to appreciate both on September 10. But there's a catch: while the story update will be available to everyone for free, activities related to the crashed Guild starship will be part of the seasonal pass and will cost the equivalent of $13. We'll tell you more about what the inhabitants of the desert Arrakis will be up to next month.
«Lost Loot» in Dune: Awakening

The free story update, the largest since the game's release, will bring gamers the next chapter of adventures. Players will need to study the map and uncover new mysteries rooted deep in the Empire. Contracts, armor, character setting adjustments, and random events on the planet's surface are promised. The announcement trailer shows a rather unusual mode of transport for traversing the sands — the wheeled vehicle. It will be available as part of the seasonal pass along with three missions, such as one related to the crash of the «Mitra». This is a Guild starship, and such ships don't just fall from the sky, so players will have to find out what really happened.
In addition to searching for cargo that disappeared from the crash site and riding wheeled vehicles, gamers will engage in base building, for which many parts will be delivered. The pass also includes access to imperial testing stations, a new emote, appearance options for weapons and characters, and five decorations for personal shelters. The developers are teasing the audience by promising to launch some mysterious event even before this update is released.
