Meet Towerborne - cartoon co-op about fighting with monsters

Stoic Studios, known to gamers for The Banner Saga epic, has unveiled its new game, Towerborne, where heroes defend a city built around a magical bell tower from monsters. The action game is released under the auspices of Xbox Game Studios - you can try it out today. However, the release is still in early access, but it's a common practice for developers who are not sure of the project's completion - investing a lot of money in beta-tests is not in fashion nowadays. Despite its cheerful style, the story's plot is sad: all of humanity has been wiped out by an invasion of otherworldly creatures. Only the City of Numbers remains, stretching its streets from the high bell tower in the center. The user takes on the role of an Ace, a being reborn from the spirit world. Only Asa, uniting in squads of four, will be able to ward off the threat from humanity and save the last survivors. And the battles to come, as you can easily guess, with all sorts of monsters. If you have no company to create a quartet, it is allowed to call for help virtual companions. After the raid, you can return to the peaceful location to upgrade weapons and buy equipment for the next raid into the wild lands.

What's more interesting is the possibility to customize your character in the editor and specify equipment parameters in advance. The difficulty level can be changed at any time, so that players do not encounter impassable missions. Also during the adventure you will come across cool weapons and equipment items - it's better to bring them with you. According to the authors' idea, the world of the game will constantly evolve by adding new enemies and areas with each season.
