Conan Exiles will soon be radically improved

Funcom employees announced that on May 5, in honor of the eighth anniversary of the online survival game in the fantasy world of «Conan», they will release an updated version of their project Conan Exiles with the subtitle Enhanced. It will feature a different engine, Unreal Engine 5, meaning users will get a host of graphical improvements. Additionally, stable client performance delivering over 60 frames per second is promised. The update will be free for all original owners — just wait for its release and simply install it over the existing files.

This refers to a fundamentally new version of the game, which will automatically download on PC over the old one — this upgrade will not work otherwise. The Funcom team developed all improvements jointly with the staff of Inflexion Games studio, and they are aimed at reviving interest in multiplayer survival. Besides graphics, gameplay will also be affected: seamless map travel between the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah, the creation of multiple characters on a single account, interface adjustments, and crafting and building system fixes will become available. At the same time, the client size will be reduced to 40 GB instead of 120, and the previous version will remain relevant for consoles for some time. PC players are free to stick with the classic on UE4, but it will no longer receive patches or have an active market.

Server shutdown for maintenance is scheduled for May 4 — all content will be updated, including settings and character progression. Want to continue your adventure in Legacy — characters will have to be transferred manually. All gamers will retain their level, progression, inventory contents, and followers, but personal bases and objects placed on them will be deleted. However, this only applies to property on the Isle of Siptah. The recommended requirements for the Enhanced version are as follows: 64-bit Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, a DirectX 12-compatible graphics card, and an SSD.
