Red Dead Online Updated for the First Time in a Long While

While the multiplayer component of GTA V became a hit almost immediately and remains popular to this day, the online version of Rockstar's western hasn't reached the same heights. Nevertheless, RD Online does have an audience. And they were pleasantly surprised when the developers released a patch with the first part of Strange Tales of the West. Here, gamers can expect horror-themed missions and even battles with robots. Let's tell you what will interest fans of Wild West games in this update.

To participate in the new activities, you need to find the writer Theodore Levin. This character collects the most bizarre rumors from across the American Frontier and then sends brave souls to verify these tales. As you might guess, you'll need to act in a group, as the tasks are not the easiest. There are four in total. In the first mission, you'll have to find out the source of a plague turning the residents of Armadillo into zombies. The second quest will send the heroes to battle robots that seem to have escaped from steampunk fiction. The machines know no mercy, but you'll still have to clear out the Braithwaite estate.

The third adventure is also about science. Rumors say a certain scientist has managed to create artificial life, but is it safe for others? That's what you'll need to find out, but don't forget to bring a shotgun. Finally, don't forget to visit the swamps of Lagras—just in case you survive encounters with savages. To celebrate the update, the game is offering triple gold and XP rewards for all quest achievements until August 4th. Even hunting now yields double rewards. One of the interesting additions is a character outfit inspired by the community: it includes a raccoon hat, deerskin pants, and a fringed shirt.
