«Witcher 3» — now with multiplayer

Studio CD Projekt RED became known throughout the world thanks to the creation of several excellent games, but unfortunately, none of them have an online mode. What the Polish developers didn't finish, enthusiasts are now perfecting. Recently, a fan modification for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt appeared on the Nexusmods website, allowing you to arrange joint sessions with friends, taking control of any hero of the saga, be it Geralt of Rivia himself, his protégé Ciri, Yennefer, Lambert, Eskel or Regis. Let's talk about how to play the third «Witcher» in good company.

Of course, the new modification doesn't add joint activities or any interactive elements — you simply appear with friends in a shared session on one location. Situations are possible where one gamer plays through the story campaign, while another accompanies their comrade in adventures, without influencing the development of the story or other events in the fairy-tale world. But the multiplayer also has clear advantages, as it combines with other addons: Chill Out, for example, will allow you to relax in a tavern together with other gamers, and Custom Player Characters — to customize the appearance of the character to your own taste. It's also an excellent way to share experience with newcomers — personally show them hidden locations, secrets and rare quests.

What do you need to do to go online with company? First, make sure that the version of the game installed on your PC is not pirated, but official — the client from the GOG store 4.04+ will work. Then you need to log into your account on the Nexusmods website and download three additional modifications for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We're talking about the already mentioned Chill Out and Custom Player Characters, as well as Community Patch — it should be downloaded manually and the contents unpacked into the game folder. Next comes launching the Script Merger program — it will help resolve conflicts in installed applications. More information about setup can be found on the official modification page.
