Elite ships will appear in World of Sea Battle

Thera Interactive studio has shared some details about the upcoming V21 update «Through the Storm» for the MMO game World of Sea Battle about sailing ships of the 17th-18th centuries. In addition to expanding the map and releasing several new ship models, users will be introduced to a special status for their favorite vessels — they will be able to make them elite. This does not mean any combat advantages (such as increased damage from shots), but it will allow players to sail the oceans longer on their beloved sailing ship and will unlock some bonuses.

To obtain the new status, it is enough to use a particular ship model more often than the others and then also invest gold earned on missions. If desired, you can buy «elite status» for coins — the in-game equivalent of real money, but this is an option for those who want to get everything at once. The developers emphasize that the elite status will not provide combat enhancements, but it will offer bonuses divided into six levels. The first will allow you to recover 10% more lost valuables after a defeat in battle. The second will give +2 to maximum integrity, with the third the hold will become a bit more spacious, the fourth will make repairs cheaper, and the fifth will increase repair speed. Finally, the final level will unlock +20% to experience and two bonus slots for saving equipment.

A separate type of experience will appear for leveling up the marked vessel. The accumulation bar for these points will be tied to a specific sailing ship — it cannot be spread across all of them or reassigned to another model. Patents will allow speeding up progression, and there will be both single-level ones and those that unlock the entire upgrade branch at once. It is important to note that the new status will only apply to ships of the fifth rank and above; moreover, a vessel equipped with this status cannot be put up on the exchange or sold in any other way.
