A game similar to Palworld has been announced on Steam

It's interesting to observe how developers borrow successful ideas from each other. It would seem that only recently the creators of Palworld were being criticized for the best parts of their game being taken from the Pokemon franchise, and now there are those who want to adopt mechanics from Poketpair's product. Studio PocketGame has presented a cooperative pocket monster breeding simulator Pickmon, which many are already comparing to the widely known Steam hits. But does the new game offer anything original?

What does Pickmon offer at the announcement stage?

According to the developers, the game sends heroes to a fairy-tale continent inhabited by pickmons—creatures just like Pokémon. They can be explored, tamed, and used for practical purposes. For example, they can help in battle or assist in the garden, where they make it easier to grow crops. The creatures are also good at crafting—it's worth remembering that PocketGame employees define their work's genre as survival crafting: characters here will have to survive through labor, resource gathering, tool creation, and other handicrafts. At the same time, anyone can invite friends to a joint session to explore the virtual world together.

But that's not all. The gameplay is complemented by a plot dedicated to uncovering the secrets of an ancient civilization, as well as a conspiracy by a mysterious organization. There are few details about the story so far, and the release date and expected cost of the game are completely unknown. But if you're interested in entertainment of this format, you can add Pickmon to your Steam wishlist right now.
