Mortars and explosive alarms have appeared in Rust

Facepunch studio released an update for the multiplayer survival simulator. PvP combat enthusiasts received mortars at their disposal — a weapon especially useful in raids on foreign bases and against infantry. And fortress defenders can now build an alarm that will not only notify the right people, but also deal damage to uninvited guests. Other changes have also occurred in Rust — we will discuss them in more detail.

What was added to Rust with the release of the May update?

Let's start with the replenishment of the artillery arsenal. Before using the mortar, it must be installed on flat ground, and you will have to fire by eye: at best, you will have binoculars in your hands, but you will not be given special tools for adjusting fire. The weapon has recoil, which gradually pushes the entire hull back, so you will need to adjust it from time to time. Also in your arsenal, you will have mines of two types — some are designed to eliminate characters, while others are needed to destroy walls.

Defenders of fortifications also got new tricks. The game improved the tin can alarm system, only now you can attach a grenade or some other explosive item to it: a Molotov cocktail, a smoke grenade, a flashbang. Such a device is allowed to be installed anywhere, even inside the base, and not just outside. The main thing in this case is not to fall into the trap yourself.

Among other improvements, it is primarily worth noting the expansion of the assortment of traders in the floating city, who started selling ready-made modules for building boats. Also, computer stations from now on require a separate power source, and grenade throws became more stable thanks to animation fixes. The list of fixes is completed by graphical improvements of various items, including storage barrels.
