PUBG will have more player-generated content
The authors of the «battle royale», which now belongs to the Chinese company Krafton, have shared an important announcement with the public. When PUBG is upgraded to version 36.2, it will receive additional creative space for UGC Alpha, where anyone can create matches with their own rules. The service will be launched for just three months, but during this period it will certainly become clear how in-demand and useful the user-generated content system promised in last year's «roadmap» is.
Testing UGC Alpha in PUBG: Battlegrounds

The addition will be a location and match constructor. It will allow users to come up with anything using pre-prepared tools. The editor contains three categories of settings: rules, devices, and objects. By changing them, it will be possible, for example, to create a game where everyone is forced to use only one type of weapon, rely on parkour skills, or utilize environmental objects like explosive barrels for their purposes. It will also be possible to add a point-capture mechanic to any of the locations or come up with rules that differ from the traditional «battle royale». The developers explain their idea simply: it is needed for those who constantly think about how great it would be to add something to PUBG. Wanted to add something? Now you can.
The feature will be launched in a test mode for three months—from July to the end of September. The first to get access to the amateur editor will be the developers' partners (streamers, bloggers) and esports athletes. And in August, all gamers with a Plus account will be able to create their own sessions. At the same time, if, say, a journalist creates their level before the last month of summer, anyone can join it online, as long as they also have the game client installed.
