Cyclops will appear in Marvel Rivals
The online action game about superhero battles from the Marvel universe will soon be upgraded to version 8.5. It will add a character already glimpsed in one of the story trailers, as well as a tournament mode and quests of two types — some will develop the plot, while others are timed to coincide with the summer festival in the game. This means that the heroes will again dress up in beach costumes and engage in farming virtual currency. The NetEase employees are not revealing all the details yet, but we can already share the known information with the public.
Details of Marvel Rivals version 8.5
The real star of the add-on will be Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops. This is a character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in the 1960s, and his ability is laser beams from his eyes, which forces Scott to wear special glasses. Being a mutant, he was one of the first to be taken under the care of Charles Xavier, thus becoming a member of the X-Men team. In the game, Summers has the role of a duelist, he is able to inflict huge damage on the enemy with his beams, which can also push the hero back to change cover or retreat. In addition, the laser reflects off walls, which allows hitting enemies hiding, for example, around a corner.
According to the plot, the newcomer must reunite with the X-Men, but for this, his friends must rescue him from the fortress of the Alchemax corporation. Version 8.5 will receive other important changes as well. In particular, the Bounty Annihilation mode, where two teams of 18 participants each will clash. The tournament is organized according to deathmatch rules, that is, with respawns and constant dynamics, and the group's goal is domination on the Shenlong arena. What else is interesting, there are no restrictions on the number of identical characters — you can even recruit a crowd of Hulks into the squad. These battles will become available on June 12. And on the 18th, the Rival Summer Festival will begin in the action game with gifts, rewards, and themed sets of decorations for all characters.
