A new character class has appeared in Lineage II

Korean company NCSoft has released a global update for its MMORPG. The patch is named Samurai Crow and, as you can easily guess, is dedicated to the samurai class (in the English version, to crows). Only a male kamael can become such a character. Wielding a katana, the hero can cut through a group of enemies and deal them additional damage with melee skills. The attack effects are enhanced by stunning and knocking opponents aside, and, in addition, the warrior is occasionally assisted by spirits that in Japanese folklore are called Oni.

The basic set of skills inherent to the new class is already known. First among them is «Katana Mastery»: when fencing with a one-handed sword, the kamael gains a high chance to deal critical damage during normal and strong attacks. The second skill, «Yoroi Mastery» (from the name of the medieval Japanese armor «o-yoroi»), in combination with light armor increases the character’s strength, physical defense, and mobility. «Body Training» grants a bonus to simple physical damage, and «Sword Mastery Lessons» makes damage from bladed weapons proportionally dependent on equipment quality. Also in the samurai’s arsenal are «Straw-Cutting Training», «Sword Spirit», and «Secret Art». All these techniques help defeat an opponent in close combat.

At the same time, NCSoft employees strengthened several popular classes, including duelists, bards, and archers. To mark the patch’s release, two PvE servers were launched featuring 30 boss raids and three legendary dragons. The update is currently globally available to gamers with the base version of Lineage, but after November 12, 2025, all users of the Essence version—popular in Russia—will be able to appreciate it.
