Conqueror's Blade is getting more firearms in Conqueror's Blade
Together with the release of the "Lion's Fire" add-on in the MMO game Conqueror's Blade about the battles of heroes and their units appeared soldiers armed with muskets. This became a very unusual addition to medieval units. But the developers from Booming Tech continue to develop the firearms theme - this time they added cavalrymen with pistols, mercenaries from the "Pig Feathers" squad and artillerymen from the "Lion's Roar" group. All of the newcomers are equipped according to the 17th century Swedish army.
"Pig Feathers" in Conqueror's Blade - what can they do?
Let's start with the cavalry: the pistoliers from the troops of Emperor Gustav II Adolphus were not aristocrats, but mercenaries, who showed themselves well during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). The armament of this cavalry makes it very effective in close combat - the rider can also palash the enemy, and shoot once or twice. In the game, the new unit is useful against all types of units, including well-defended ones, but it operates in raids.
As for the Pig Feathers, they are English riflemen in the service of Sweden. They fight in a linear formation, meaning they are strong in formation. In addition to muskets, they carry pikes to repel attacks by horsemen. That is, they are equally effective at all ranges, and in addition, they are able to fire continuously on the area you tell them to. But keep in mind that the most powerful skills immobilize the squad: to repel cavalry attacks, infantrymen need to keep their pikes on the ground, and for the most effective volleys, they need to fix their muskets on stanchions.
Finally, Swedish cannoneers, who learned in the 17th century to maneuver rather than stand still, waiting for the hussars to raid. In the game you can get three squads of five men each manning one cannon. The place for installing the guns should be chosen in advance, because during the battle there will be no time to move the artillery, although there is such a possibility. The gunners also have pistols just in case, but they won't be able to do much with handheld weapons.
