First snow has fallen in ARC Raiders

Extraction shooter, recently awarded at The Game Awards for best multiplayer, has been updated for the arrival of winter. This means that gamers now have access to snowy versions of familiar maps, including «Buried City», which in its normal form more resembles a scorching desert covered with sand dunes. Also, an event «Glimmering Flame» has started, during which raiders can earn additional rewards. We detail the December changes in the game.

Icy winds with blizzards sweep across the entire valley above Speranza, freezing the space from «Cosmodrome» and «Blue Gates» to «Buried City» and «Battlefield at the Dam». All these maps are now available in a winter variant, but the weather is merciless — heroes during raids will have to seek shelter and additional protection from frostbite. If you stay in open terrain for long, there's a high chance of being eliminated from the battle without the involvement of opponents or robots. The new terrain design appears randomly — sometimes you'll get the summer variant, but at times the winter one. According to the developers, this rotation will last until January.

Also, two activities have started in the game. The first, «Candleberry Bush», has players collecting special berries to later exchange them for banquet table decorations in your personal shelter — this project has a total of five stages. The second activity is the «Glimmering Flame» event. It has 25 levels, and users receive a reward for each. All you need to do to progress — is fight in matches. And the event will last until the 13th of next month. It's also worth noting that starting December 26, the shooter will add a free equipment set «Goalie», inspired by hockey player gear. The set includes a suit and a stick.
