The Lord of the Rings Online received an update with a witch

The authors of the MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online based on the books of John Tolkien try to follow literary canons: here you can visit all corners of Middle-earth, meet representatives of races and individual characters familiar from The Lord of the Rings. Fans of the fairy-tale universe know well who the Witch-king of Angmar is — he, by the way, was also the leader of the nine Nazgûl in the novels and films. But in addition to him, the staff of Standing Stone studio came up with the Angmar Witch. Also, an important part of update 49 was the PvP mode Monster Play.

The patch was named "In Good Company" and has already been uploaded to the servers. The story development affected vast territories from Harad to the marshy plains of Ettenmoors west of the Misty Mountains. It is here, in the south of the region, that Angmar is located, the homeland of the leader of the ring-wraiths. For the first time in many years, the developers created a new character class — specifically for battles in these lands. We are talking about a witch fighting for the monster faction and available to VIP users of LOTRO with a 30% discount until August 5. Monster representatives can engage in battle with neutral heroes within the Monster Play mode. To even the odds, neutrals receive a 5% penalty to morale and a 5% bonus to damage — their opponents have it the other way around. Also on the side of the monsters, besides the already mentioned sorceress, are the classes Stalker, Defiler, and Weaver.

Among other changes, it is worth noting the rebalance of glory and infamy points, the improvement of the artifact capture system, and the expansion of the "Siege" arsenal. The defending side now has a choice of three ballistae, and the attackers — two types of rams. Dungeon bosses have gained additional abilities, and in addition, representatives of the Free Peoples can now mine special ore in dungeons to create rare equipment items.
