Didn't survive after all: Survarium servers will be shut down
Survarium online shooter was developed by Vostok Games, which was founded by GSC Game World, the same company that once made S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The project was doing rather poorly: for eight years it was in early access, it was distributed on the free-to-play model to attract the public, and the first and only story mission for it was published back in 2017. Nevertheless, a certain popularity among fans of the post-apocalyptic game gained. For these gamers, the news is not very pleasant: it was decided to close the action game.
Survarium is set after the end of the world in a Soviet environment. By joining one of the factions, the player can fight in various modes and develop his character to take on more complex tasks. As in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., there are anomalies with artifacts, as well as an arsenal with Kalashnikov rifles. Although the developers promised to add an open world with mutants, it never happened - the maps are locations in the spirit of the same "Stalker", where there are many places for sniper ambushes. Over the years the shooter gathered contradictory reviews: the public praised the entourage, but criticized the bugs, cheaters and donat.
Farewell Chord
on February 7, the developers announced that by May 2022, all game servers will be shut down, and the game itself will be removed from the Steam store. Gradual winding down of the project is planned. Until the end of March everything will be as before, even leave some updates, which were asked in social networks fans. In April, the staff of Vostok Games will turn off technical support and monetization, but will give bonuses in the form of virtual currency and give everyone the right to try any equipment of your choice. In May, after the "farewell party", the Survarium story will come to an end.
